We have reserved a set of rooms for large and small presentations. So far we have commitments from:

  • Apollo Astronaut Rusty Schweickart (Saturday mid-day),
  • Astronomy Magazine Contributing Editor Stephen O'Meara (Sunday afternoon),
  • The Planetary Society's Bruce Betts,
  • ALPO's Mike Reynolds,
  • AAVSO's Arne Henden,
  • Sky and Tel's Sean Walker, and
  • Artist/Imager Wally Pacholka.

A draft schedule (as of September 10) is available below. Beware that it may change between now and then.

At this stage, we do not anticipate adding presentations. However, if you would like to make a presentation, or your astro group or astronomical point of interest would like to schedule an additional meeting or event surrounding PATS, please contact Alex McConahay (clubs@rtmcastronomyexpo.org  ).

In addition to the formal PATS program, two other events are surrounding PATS.

  • The Riverside Astroimaging Workshop will take place on Friday, September 25, and requires a separate registration. Registration information is available here. That program will feature two strands: Affordable Astro-Imaging (for those just getting started), Advanced AstroImaging ( for those who want to push the limits).

  • In the weeks preceding PATS, Paseo Colorado, the beautiful shopping mall immediately north of the exhibit hall, will have a public display of "The World At Night." This display of great images featuring celestial objects and earthly landscapes, is not to be missed. They are seeking "sidewalk astronomers" to outreach to the public during this event. Please contact Alex McConahay clubs@rtmcastronomyexpo.org to help in this effort.

In addition, we will have solar telescopes on display outside the exhibition hall.

In addition to the headline presenters (gray background), we have set aside meeting rooms and schedule for meetings, vendor demonstrations, book signings, and such events (blue backgrounds). If your astro group or astronomical point of interest would like to schedule an additional event surrounding PATS, please contact Alex McConahay (clubs@rtmcastronomyexpo.org  )
