In 2002 the full Moon did not reduce attendance, which increased over the previous three years and was the highest since the last new Moon in 1998. There were partly cloudy skies most of the weekend.
The theme for this year was "Women in Astronomy," with E.C.Krupp, director of Griffith Observatory, and his wife Robin featured as Keynote Speakers.
As usual, the RTMC had concurrent workshop sessions, along with the Beginners Corner which moved to the newly renovated Coombs Lodge.
